The Practice Research Placements Elective was launched in semester 1 of 2014. The Elective provides an opportunity for Architecture students to be placed in venturous design practices (that have a history of contributing to the design culture of the School of Architecture and Design at RMIT directly through the running of Masters Level design studios) and to provide students the opportunity to benefit from undertaking research within a professional practice environment. The joint ambition is to build knowledge and develop important resources through this research over a number of iterations and an extended period of time. The concept was initially tabled by Dean Boothroyd, Design Director, NH Architecture and Master of Architecture sessional tutor and has subsequently been developed at RMIT by Dr Graham Crist, Emma Jackson and the participating practices.
