Ann Lau
Director – Hayball

With 25 years’ experience working in Australia, China and the Netherlands, Ann Lau’s design leadership on civic, cultural, institutional and major renewal projects demonstrates an acute understanding of ‘real world’ technical, political and commercial issues. An astute and versatile designer, she pushes the boundaries of traditional typologies with dynamic, sensitive and integrated solutions that combine high quality design with commercially feasible project outcomes.

Ann regularly serves on design award juries and is a past AIA Chapter Councillor. A champion of the advancement of professional knowledge, she has undertaken university teaching and research in Australia and the Netherlands and is a mentor in the PCA’s 100 Women in Property program. A former Associate Professor of Architecture at Deakin University, she currently sits on the course advisory panel for RMIT’s Architecture & Urban Design program, the Swinburne University advisory board for a new architecture program, and the PCA’s Future Trends and Innovations Committee. She was appointed a Director at Hayball in 2014.
