This intensive two week research workshop “Rapt! Laboratory for Social Space Melbourne” was held in the Greenhouse, an Atelier Bow-Wow urban installation, in City Square, Swanston Street, Melbourne.The transparency of the Greenhouse structure is symbolic of their desire to open up their practice and methodologies to Melbourne audiences. All activities by staff and students were open to the passing public.

The intensive two week RAPT! Research Workshop with Atelier Bow Wow (Japan), Taira Nishizawa (Japan) and architecture students from Tsukamoto Lab, Tokyo Institute of Technology (TITech), andTsukuba University formed a key stage in a semester long RMIT Architecture Upperpool Design Studio. The provisional urban research methodologies and outcomes of the workshop were drawn on to inform culminating architectural design proposals by each of the RMIT Architecture design studio students.
