How can we inhabit edges and margins between fixed systems?
In nature, activity is concentrated at thresholds. Forest peripheries and shifting water edges support the greatest diversity and mutations.
Your site will be the former Amcor Paper Mill in Alphington, bound by the Yarra River, Chandler Highway, Heidelberg Road and suburban parkland. The current plan proposes a new mini suburb housing almost 5000 residents, doubling the current population of Alphington. We will explore the possible typological mutations and urban forms that can occur at the peripheries of this new development.
