In the last decade, digital fabrication has moved from experimental laboratories into full industrial application. This lecture presents the evolution of Nagami — from speculative research to a 21-robot large-scale manufacturing facility producing architectural components, furniture, and immersive spatial installations.

Through built projects and collaborations with internationally renowned designers, Manuel will examine how robotic 3D printing enables a new tectonic language — one defined by layer, gradient, curvature, and material intelligence. Central to this exploration is sustainability: transforming recycled plastics into high-performance architectural matter, challenging the relationship between waste, authorship, and industrial scalability.

Manuel Jiménez García is a Spanish architect, entrepreneur, and co-founder of Nagami Design, a pioneering design-tech brand using large-scale robotic 3D printing. Manuel bridges advanced computational design with industrial production. Through Nagami’s 21-robot factory, he collaborates with leading architects and brands to create furniture, architectural systems, and spatial installations manufactured from recycled plastics. His work explores how digital fabrication can transform waste into high-performance architectural matter while redefining authorship, sustainability, and scalability in contemporary practice.
