A Mid Semester Mini-Symposium
A CITY WITHIN THE CITY
(4 NEW URBAN PRECINCTS IN MELBOURNE)
Join us for a mid semester mini-symposium to discuss the design of 4 new urban precincts in Melbourne. What does it mean to design a new city within a city – what ideas are taken from the host culture and what is left behind? How can spatial design, planning and policy perpetuate a genuine idea of the local?
Speakers include:
Bonnie Shaw (City of Melbourne)
Brian Herlihy (Lendlease)
Carey Lyon (Lyons)
Emily Mottram (Victorian Planning Authority)
This event will be co-hosted by Mark Jacques’ studio “Going Gowntown” and Mauro Baracco and Caitlyn Parry’s studio on “Melbourne’s Urban Innovation District”.
