MCR Practice Studio

McBride Charles Ryan (MCR) is offering a Master of Architecture Studio tutored by the directors and members of the MCR team. The studio will be held on Tuesdays from 9.30am to 1.30pm at the MCR office in Prahran. The focus of the studio will align loosely with MCR’s interest in the design of educational spaces. The studio project will be the design of a large school in the Docklands area. Through an engagement with contemporary educational theory we will encourage students to derive radically new types of learning environments. The students will be encouraged to focus on the building as a vehicle for urban regeneration and to explore architectural expression as a metaphor for learning and the phantasmagorical.
