This studio will look at the clues to a future present within the existing urban environment. The studio will look for clues to a hidden, perhaps intentionally so, future urbanism. We will seek the predictive moment. Are these places geo-centric?

The structure of the studio will deploy three main phases: ‘Learning’, ‘Study’ and ‘Practice’.

This studio assumes the city is akin to a urban seed bank – An Ark. We will be aiming to articulate the silence between the monumental and the ordinary. Your proposal will be derived from the already – ‘(P) ARK’ concluding with a present past – (F) ARK.’
