Simon Whibley Architecture has been shortlisted in the 2014 Victorian Architecture Awards, Small Project Architecture category for the True Self Exhibition Design.
Presented at Melbourne’s Centre for Contemporary Photography, ‘True Self: David Rosetzky Selected Works’ was the first survey exhibition of leading Australian artist David Rosetzky. The Victorian Architecture Awards program offers peer recognition of innovative work of Victorian architects.
Faced with a limited budget and the durability demands of two years of touring, Architect Simon Whibley (Senior Lecturer , RMIT Architecture) designed a simple and inventive exhibition system that easily assembles and disassembles for moving across nine Australian venues.
Whibley stated that “the achievement of the exhibition design was to capture an echo of Rosetsky’s work, to extend the space of the art into the gallery.”
