06/04/18

RMIT Design Hub

RMIT Architecture invites you to the Final Reviews for the Bachelor of Architectural Design and Master of Architecture Design Studios. Final Presentations are being held from Monday 4 Jun until Friday 7 June.

Please see the poster for times and locations.

Students are encouraged to attend a range of end of semester reviews in order to develop familiarity with the range of projects undertaken in the design stream and to encourage discussion amongst studios.

All presentations are open to the public and we encourage staff and students to attend as many presentations as possible.

Please note that although the final reviews are open to the public, we remind you that that these sessions are examinations and ask that you are considerate of this process.  For all reviews being held off site, please make sure you confirm with the studio leaders before attending.

RMIT Architecture invites you to the 2018 FIRST YEAR FOUNDATION DESIGN STUDIO FINAL REVIEWS.

DATE: Thursday 7th June
LOCATION: RMIT Design Hub Levels 4, 5 and 6. Please refer posters for room details.
TIME: From 9:00AM

The First Year Foundation Semester experience is focused through Design & Communication and supported by Technology and History. Design & Communications is delivered through three curated studio streams:  ATLAS led by Dr Michael Spooner, CODEX led by Vicky Lam and ALGORIST led by Caitlyn Parry.

The students are directed into studio groups which they remain in as they successively experience each design stream.  The students experience each stream in durations of 4-6 weeks, cycling through all three streams as they progress across the semester.

The Lyon Housemuseum, described by the contraction of a domestic residence and art-museum, is a project which provides the common ground for the collective experience of the three very different design streams.

This Final Review represents the outcomes from Cycle 3.
