As part of “Mutations/Créations”, “Coder le monde” takes stock of contemporary digital creation in different disciplines. Looking back at the history of the digital code and the way artists have used it since the computer appeared in the 1960s, the exhibition reveals a shared aesthetic and critical world that questions our daily lives, now entirely dependent on digital logic. Based around six timelines, the exhibition brings to light numerous correspondences between various creative approaches, and provides an overall interpretation of what makes a digital culture.

The work of RMIT Architecture Associate Professor Roland Snooks and RMIT School of Architecture & Urban Design Alumna and Professor Alisa Andrasek will be exhibited, as well as the work of MVRDV; the practice of TU Delft Professor Winy Maas. RMIT Master of Architecture students will be joining TU Delft students this semester at The Why Factory as part of the Design Studio “Planet Maker: Coding our Future on Earth” which is a collaboration between The Why Factory @ TU Delft and RMIT Architecture.
