CONGRATULATIONS TO RMIT ARCHITECTURE & URBAN DESIGN LECTURER AMY MUIR ON BEING ELECTED AS THE AIA VICTORIAN CHAPTER PRESIDENT.

Amy Muir is director of the Melbourne-based architecture practice, MUIR. Amy has served on the Victorian Chapter council for four years, as Chair of the awards juries for the last 3 years and has already established strong links between her teaching and research at RMIT, professional practice and public advocacy. Amy was recognised for her work and professional engagement in 2016 with the AIA Victorian and National Emerging Architect award.

The Victorian Chapter President is the AIA National Councillor elected by the Victorian members, providing leadership in what is the peak body for the architectural profession in Australia. Nationally the AIA represents 11,000 members and has a mission to work to improve the quality of our built environment by promoting quality, responsible and sustainable design. In the role Amy will also be the public face of the Victorian AIA activities.

We are immensely proud of this achievement which further strengthens RMIT Architecture’s ties with Industry and we look forward to supporting Amy’s excellent work during her term as President.
