Each semester around 17 design studios are commissioned and offered to a vertically integrated cohort of Lowerpool students enrolled in Design levels 2-5. Studios are led by RMIT Architecture academic staff, design researchers, sessional staff from innovative local practices, and visiting international practitioners and academics. Each studio is run autonomously over a single semester with studio leaders setting studio briefs and thematics which they present to students in the week prior to semester. Students then ballot for a place in a studio. Studios generally operate on a 1:14 staff/student ratio.

This exhibition features Lower Pool and Upper Pool Design Studio projects by Architecture and Landscape Architecture students undertaken in Semester 02, 2009.
