applying UPPER-POOL DESIGN STUDIO PROJECTS Design 6
08 | 07 | 06 | 05 | 04 | 03 | 02 15 design studios are offered to a vertically integrated cohort of Upperpool students enrolled in Design levels 6-9 . Studios are led by RMIT Architecture academic staff, design researchers, sessional staff from innovative local practices, and visiting international practitioners and academics. Each studio is run autonomously over a single semester with studio leaders setting studio briefs and thematics which they present to students in the week prior to semester. Students then ballot for a place in a studio. Studios generally operate on a 1:12 staff/student ratio. Semester 02 2009 included:

New New Urbanism Final 3 Marcus White , RMIT Architecture Lecturer, SIAL; Practice Director: Harrison and White Semester 01 2009 included:Revitalising the House: AIA (VIC) 2009 Student Ideas Competition Ashton Raggatt McDougall ARM AIA (Vic) Competition Jury: Shelley Penn, Kai Chen, John Wardle and Daryl JacksonThe brief was for a 21st Century completion of the Victorian State House of Parliament. 35 students from 3 Victorian architecture schools entered the blind competition, including 12 RMIT students. 3 of the 4 joint equal 1st Prize winning projects were by RMIT students. $3,000.00 of prize money was provided by the Heritage Council of Victoria.
