INTERNATIONAL TRAVELLING EXHIBITION

New Trends of Architecture in Europe & Asia Pacific 2004-2005
RMIT Gallery, Storey Hall

This biennial travelling exhibition seeks to create dynamic encounters between Europe, Asia and the Pacific architects and architectural cultures promoting an international exchange of innovative and diverse architectural ideas and practices, and public discourse on architecture with associated public events, symposia and workshops.

The New Trends of Architecture Europe & Asia Pacific 2004-2005 exhibition presents the work and ideas of 10 European and 10 Asia-Pacific architects, selected by the Commissioners Mr. Dominique Perrault and Prof. Hiroshi Hara. The exhibition is travelling to European and Asia-Pacific cities, including Lille and Cork, the European Capitals of Culture, as well as Hong Kong, Tokyo, Anyang and Melbourne.

Each participant described the propositional basis of their work, and this was discussed with an invited audience of local architects and academics. The seminar was concluded with remarks from RMIT Adjunct Professors and RMIT Honorary Doctors of Architecture William Lim (Singapore) and Peter Corrigan (Melbourne)
